Re: New members

We bought the recipe today and look forward to our next batch in a few days. Just bought a couple more carboys and can see my bank account slowy moving over to Eric. The great thing about this is my wife is 100% behind me so there is no hiding my new hobby from her. Now we are waiting for time to ge...

Re: New members

Thank you for the heads up on the recipe. I downloaded it and will buy the ingrediants today. I was told by Eric that this one is a difficult one to brew. What are your thoughts? Thanks, John Generally I'm a big "make your *own* recipe" guy, but as a newbie, it takes some time to get to th...

Re: New members

Hi Derrin, It looks like my last post didn't take. It's time for a new computer! I just bought the book you recommended and on chapter 4. There is no way I can return the book now since I scribbled tons of notes in it and high-lighted parts as well. I brewed my first batch yesterday and have to say ...

Re: New members

Hi Derrin, I have a hard copy of How to Brew and on chapter 4. It came in just the other day and had already purchased the book before findout the older version is online. I do prefer hardback books anyway so I can mark in them. As far as waiting to read the book first well I guess I jumped the gun ...

Re: New members

Well, I bought a kettle, carboy, and a 6 gal. bucket, mesh bag and ingrediants for a cream stout from Eric. Not sure if that is considered an extract or all-grain set up. I love all beers as long as they are not Coors/Miller or Bud. Typically, I drink Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and enjoyed their 30 year...

Re: New members

I just cracked open a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale to celebrate brewing my first batch of beer. Everything went smoothly which makes me wonder if I forgot something. I am not sure if this is a rookie mistake but after pouring my beer into the carboy I took a sip of the soon to be beer and it wasn’t bad.

Re: New members

Hi Tim,

I attended Eric's seminar last Sunday and really enjoyed it. That is where I purchased my kit and supplies. I'm trying to post a picture of me in Brussels with the Saint Arnold statue but having issues doing so. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
John

Re: New members

Thanks guys for the quick response. I paid my dues yesterday when I signed up for the club. I plan to brew my first batch of beer today using the equipment I purchased from Erik at Addison’s Home Brewing Provisions. My first attempt will be a cream stout which I am looking forward to drinking when t...

I am a new member. Now what? I know this is the worst month of the year to join a club as everyone is celebrating the holidays. As a new member how can I find out about meetings, beer testings, events, etc.? I am a virgin in home brewing and look forward to brewing my first batch as well as meeting ...
