Also, I have never seen so many Stewards. We had 2 per table when sometimes there is only 1 for 2 tables. That is a big help.

The Kolsch and Am. brown were both battling for 1st.I actually gave my 1st place vote to the Am. brown. I also saw they put me belonging to the Long Beach Homebrewers Club even though I don't belong to them. Odd how they got that.

The IPA's were all in the 30's and quite nice. They were mostly Am style and only one double IPA.I think the hop shortage hurt that cat. and caused a few others to be a little weak in the hop aroma and flavors.

When I bottle for competitions I like to rack from the middle part of the racking bucket. I don' t know if that really does anything but it makes me feel better.

Got my scoresheet back. A national, certified and a recognized judge.Scored a 34 and 3 of 8 in flight. that is alright considering it was a wheat based ale with real Peaches flown across the country in high heat. Just getting to the finals is a admirable goal.

It was a hard event to judge as we had no poor beers and I dont think they had enough judges as there were 30 or so judges for several hundred beers. The good news was my Peach ale got 371/2 for third place. I will bring some when Patrick does the beer flavor kit.

I judged the Belgian Strongs on the same panel as Peter Zien and he gave one of the beers a 45, so somebody got the highest score that a Master Judge has ever given.

Has anyone made a beer with Apples? Someone asked at work about that and I wasn't sure.
