Heffernan's Home Brewing Supplies
Has anyone ever been to this LHBS? I just moved to Upland and this shop came up on a search. It is located inside a wine shop called Pacific Wine Merchants.
I will have to go check it out, but thought I would pose the question first.

Re: Brewcommune membership
We did do cards a few years ago, but I'm not sure if we still are...
I believe you can just tell them at the Riverside location. They pretty much just take your word for it.

I will be there, too!
I was going to bring some porter, but since Tim is doing a presentation on stout, I will just have to bring my beer and call it a stout!

Re: Chlorine/Chloramine
I do "treat" my water, but not chemically. I use my spray adaptor on my hose to create tho most air contact with my brewing liquor as possible. Most of the chlorine will evaporate (you will notice this by smell, if you can smell chlorine, it means it is no longer in your water). This is th...

Re: Siphon starter
I have used that for a few years now. The filter in-line keeps the chance of germs pretty low, and it only takes a small amount of breath to get the air pressure up in the headspace to start the siphon. I guess if you were really worried, you could push it with a little CO2 to get it started. Just d...

Re: San Diego Super Yeast WLP090
I just kegged my kitchen sink IPA that used WLP090. It was a great attenuator and even better flocculator. Starting gravity was 1.060 and after 2 full weeks (it was at a friends garage in a chest freezer at 67 deg) it finished out at 1.010. Most of the trub even stayed at the bottom when lifting the...
