bomber bottles

3.5 cases of bomber bottles. 2.5 are clean with foil covering the top. 1 needs cleaning. A couple may have labels. Free. Let me know if you want them before they become a craigslist freebee.

Re: Marzenale

I have done that. I called it a festale. The malt and hops were spot on but the ale character was in your face if you tasted it next to a lager. Lagering does help.

I used it like crystal malt. You probably only want 1/2 to 1 pound for 5 gallons. Derrin uses it in Bee's Butt and may have something to add.

Re: Honey Beer

Just a tip. Add some honey malt. Honey malt and honey together is more than the sum of their parts.

Re: bottles?

I found about 7.5 cases, so you can pick and chose or take them all. I think you have my phone number. Just make sure we are home before you come over anytime.

Re: bottles?

I'm not exactly sure. It may be as many as 4 cases. I'll try to take an inventory tomorrow.

bottles?

Do you need bottles? I have lots of 12oz bottles that will not be coming with me to Florida when Mary and I relocate probably next Spring. Many of my bottles are clean inside ready for sanitization and filling with a piece of foil keeping them that way. Others need cleaning but are de-labled. I woul...

Re: 32nd Southern California Regional Homebrew Championship

This club didn't manage to get my entries from the drop off one year and the next year I never got my score sheets. They said the mailed them.... I stopped entering in IEB's comp after that.

Re: RO Filter

John, I'm interested. Can membranes still be ordered? I expect the membrane still works. It was sitting in my garage for many years. When I fired it up a couple of years ago I didn't expect it to work but it worked great. I don't know if a replacement is available. It's a Premier RO TFM 55V-1W. I e...

RO Filter

Free RO filter. It's a little old but not used that much as it's mostly been in my garage. When last used the RO membrane re-hydrated and still pulled 180ppm water down to 10ppm. The intake fitting snapped and needs to be extracted and replaced. See photo: http://www.brewcommune.com/coppermine/album...

Re: Keezer collar holes

I let the Ranco probe wire deform the gasket. It's worked for years. I do keep the probe in a thermowell in a plastic bottle of water. CO2 is in the keezer; I use paintball bottles to lose less CO2 when I get a leak.

Re: DIY Glycol Chiller?

Interesting... I wonder if plain [RO] water in a fridge in a 6G bucket with a fan circulating in the fridge would be enough thermal mass to chill a 10 gal keg outside the fridge in SoCal summer temps... At least to ale ferment temperatures around 65 degrees? I suppose I could then even use softer b...

Re: DIY Glycol Chiller?

There are lots of variables in play. While it is true that the AC coils in direct contact are very efficient the refrigerant can also freeze your coolant essentially requiring a glycol mix as plain water will freeze on the coils insulating them from cooling your reservoir or even freezing up the rec...
