I probably won't make this one unless something changes at the last minute.

Re: Blichmann Engineering QuickCarb

The Blichmann solution is nice, but completely unnecessary unless you are bleeding cash. I quick carb most my beers at 30psi for 24 to 30 hours and have had great results. No shaking. Another option is to put the CO2 on the IN port of the keg (best done if you have a check valve on your CO2 line to ...

Thanks for posting the notes Greg.

That may be the most variety of beers that we have ever had at a meeting. Nice work everybody.

Have fun guys. I love taking a day off and brewing during the week. I always feel like I'm getting away with something.

Re: WTB Corny Kegs

What is everyone's take on used kegs? Anything to consider? A keg is a keg is a keg? You want to make sure they can hold pressure, are not too dented up, and are not scratched on the inside. All the rubber o-rings can be replaced pretty easily and should be done since you don't know what was stored...

Re: Club Meeting – March 21th, 2017 7:00 pm

Unfortunately, I won't be there tomorrow. Curtis will facilitate the meeting. Worst president ever. :happybeer: I will be there. I am bringing my Agave Blonde Ale (just kegged yesterday), Centennial IPA, and (hopefully) Columbus IPA to compare with the Centennial IPA (same malt bill, just mixed up ...

Re: Exact iDip Water Testing Kit

For those of you that still care about this stuff, I did a little write up on my newly christened blog on my last brew day using the water testing kit.

Brewing Dreams

Anyone else ever dream about brewing? I do all the time. Last night, I dreamed I was transferring wort from the boil kettle. But I wasn't transferring into my normal fermentor, I was transferring into a large Tupperware container. Some bugs fell in while I was transferring, and I just left them in t...

Top 50 by produced volume? I did not see Constellation in there, and would have thought they would be.... --LexusChris Constellation is listed in the footnotes as the owner of Ballast Point. I believe it's based on beer brewed in the US which might explain why Constellation isn't listed on its own....

Yes, Brad it is. I'll deliver them tonight. I'm actually going to use the fermenter kit now. Found a smaller keg and it will work with my setup. If I didn't already have two kegs to ferment in already, I would take you up on this offer. For anyone else in the club that is still fermenting in plasti...

Re: Bitterness component of late hopping / dry hopping

Great article BW. Thanks for posting that. Interesting stuff. I have played around quite a bit with hop bursting in my Pale Ale recipe with good results. You know, we've always talked about perceived bitterness in late-hop and dry-hop beers, and now this begins to give some scientific basis to it. T...
