You can also try cutting the plastic tubing into two pieces about 1-1/2 long then place s/s or copper tube between pieces. The goal is to have a gap between metal tubing that is about 1/4" with plastic tubing acting like a flex joint. With gaps this small, tubing cannot crush

Thanks for the input. Since this will be my first attempt at kegging, I think I'll play it safe and stick with the CO2. Chris, thanks for the offer to trade but I'll still need my welding gas. From jwards input, it sounds like the argon probably won't carbonate properly. According to nico, sometime...

I presume you are using a Better Bottle for fermentation so that should not be a problem. What sort of tubing are you using to rack?

Thanks for the tips! Brad, on your bright tank, how much shorter is the dip tube? And then you use CO2 to push the beer out that dip tube, and into the 'out' port on a normal corney? --lexuschris Chris Mine are cut 1/2" shorter and beer pours very clear PM me if you need a way to cut dip tubes
