Mad Alchemist Obliterum Rye IPA
Currently aging in the keg. Pardon the assumption that you are a wide-eyed child enraptured by the wonderment of homebrewing. It's written this way for my website and I didn't want to rewrite it for the forum! Oh, and hit up Windsor Homebrew Supply . Scott is awesome and the shop is excellent. Best ...

Re: English Mild
Hi Justin. I use EZ water but I hear Brun is good too. If you have issues plugging your numbers into EZ water give me a call. On a side note. Your Arrowhead water is much closer to RO water than I would have expected. I sent my RO water to Ward labs to see how close my under the counter 5 filter RO...

Re: English Mild
I am... obsessive about water, let's say. I only have a moment to comment, so I'll get right to it and will come back with a better reply if I remember. I start with Reverse Osmosis water. I start with 5% of the numbers from El Toro Water District's annual report (because my RO system gets TDS to ab...

Re: www.HopRage.com
Just kegged my Rye IPA that used 5 ml of HopRage on top of some Magnum and Willamette/Libery flavor/aroma hops. I managed to get about a quart that I couldn't fit in the keg as tends to be the case when I forget to account for the rye whiskey I poured in with the oak... Anyway, I carbonated that qua...

I'll meet more of you guys one day.
Crunch mode has officially started at work, so I'm basically not part of the world for a few months.

Re: www.HopRage.com
Made some changes based on your feedback. Much appreciated. Sold some to "The Homebrewer" home brew shop in San Diego. Will reach out to other homebrew shops as well. Thanks again! Hey mang! I'd love to try some of this out but I can't seem to order multiple syringes at a time. Any way I ...

Re: Water - benefit and costs of RO
As to the benefits... The water here sucks. Water anywhere is inconsistent seasonally. So much of the background flavor of beer is water that it's crazy not to care about it if you're serious about making great beer consistently. With an RO system you don't have to buy distilled water each brew day,...

Re: Water - benefit and costs of RO
I have this system with the chloramine option and it works great. I spend a few hours with the hose in my mash tun the night before collect water for brew day and have awesome water to build from the next day. http://www.airwaterice.com/product/1ED/Energy-Recovery-Reverse-Osmosis-System.html I didn'...

Mad Alchemist Savage Stout (Dry, Rye, Oak)
I'm brewing this tomorrow. If anyone feels like coming by, I live in Laguna Hills. Wife and kid are out of town. I'll probably start measuring things around 10 and will be in full swing by noon. Frankly, this recipe is as yet untested. I’ll try to update this post with taste notes in a few months wh...

Oh nice. Yeah, that is what I was looking for. Hopefully I can come by next weekend and share a brew. Have family out this weekend.

Re: Style: The "Florida Weisse"
Berliner Weisse is usually served with some sort of fruit syrup in Germany, so it's almost closer to the real thing than most people see out here (most of the time I've seen Berliner Weisse at restaurants/bars, they just come sour with no fruit). I've long toyed with the idea of starting a trendy ty...

Oh sweet. What type of manifold design is it? I've been looking at instructions on how to make one but keep deciding not to bother due to time.

Re: Oxygen Tank, Regulator, Refills
So I went the cheap route here and got the regulator for disposable tanks. Meh. I really don't like guessing whether I'm giving it enough oxygen or not. Seems prone to over-or-under-oxygenation. At some point in a year or so I'll upgrade to a full tank/regulator so I know that I'm doing it correctly.
