Re: Breweries with good setups during COVID

The new Hanger 24 in Irvine is massive. Huge outdoor space, tons of tables and shade. They have two bars so you don't have to walk all the way back to the brewery to order a second beer. Food is good too.

Beer's pretty good too.

Thinking we could knock together 9 holes at the little course off Jeronimo/Cherry one of these days.

Casta del Sol is a great, 18 hole executive course. only like 35 bucks on the weekend.

Re: OT: ISO: Golf club set, ladies'

I'd recommend going to goodwill too. They always have tons of clubs. you can probably piece together a set good enough to go out.

The newer clubs are a lot easier to hit though, so old ones might be discouraging.

Re: Altbier Recipe?

I'm not too sure about that. I'm not too knowledgeable about pH though. I just go 5.1-5.2 for 'crisp' and 5.4-5.5 for 'thick' It might be because of my thin mashes from BIAB, but I always find darker grain overpowering in my beers. Adding them at the end of the mash helps a bunch with removing the a...

Re: Altbier Recipe?

Big thanks! If I scale this to a little batch, I can actually do the step mashing with my primitive gear... 8) You can always just do a single infusion haha. I normally skip the decoction/steps in the book. I've always heard with today's malts it is unnecessary, but that is up for debate. I do reco...
