May Meeting 5/18/10 @ Addison HB Provisions in Fullerton
Hey All!
May's club meeting will be Tuesday, May 18th, 2010 @ 7pm. OC Eric has graciously offered to host our meeting at his new homebrew supply store:
Addison Homebrew Provisions
1328 E. Orangethorpe Ave
Fullerton, CA 92831
714.752.8446
http://www.homebrewprovisions.com
The store has the space, but not the chairs neccessary. So please bring your own folding or lawn chair, plus an extra to share if need-be.
Please bring your homebrew, mead & ciders to pass around & talk about. Posting your brew's recipe in the club database is a great way for everyone to remember your creation, and match ingredients & techniques to real-world tastings.
We'll also have updates from the SCHF 2010 event, upcoming competitions & Brewmaster Brad's style presentation!

Welcome Haemon,
The meetings are open to anyone that has an interest in homebrewing. I hope you are able to make it at some point. We generally wrap up a little after 9 and there's no penalty (other than a little verbal abuse) for being late.

Hey Eric! It was good meeting you yesterday (this is Marshall). I've been talking to more of my friends and trying to get them out for your party on the 22nd but you should know that the 22nd is the last Saturday of Renaissance Faire. A lot of Fairegoers are homebrewers so I'm sure you'll be seeing them eventually, just not that day.
MB, thank you for the invite and for the warm welcome. I hope you don't ALWAYS have your meetings on Tuesdays at 7pm, I'd love to attend!

Double Doh! I've been meaning to make the Faire the past two years and keep missing it.

Well... I'm headed there tomorrow but it'll probably be a slow day, not as busy as the 22nd. Still, I'll be able to make it out to your shindig for a few hours most likely. When did you say the demo on the brew sculpture was going to be?

I won't be able to make it. I will be in SF for work, but I will have an IPA at the 21st Amendment Brewery that night whilst thinking of you guys.

Hey guys, I just did the PayPal to formally join the group. I was at the Feb. meeting and the CHA Festival tagging along with Brian C. I should be bringing growlers of my last two brews with me tomorrow.

JonW, looking forward to seeing you again at the meeting, and trying some of your brew!
I'd also like to encourage anyone who has been reading the boards, lurking, and thinking about coming to a meeting, to go ahead and make it over to Addison's Homebrew Provisions in Fullerton tomorrow night! I met a few of you at the homebrew festival, and we'd love to see you at the meeting. I guarantee you'll have a good time, meet some cool people, and learn a little something along the way!
Don't forget to bring a chair (or two)!

Another great meeting!
Chris- Thanks for sharing your score sheet. I hope anyone thinking of entering a comp realizes how beneficial getting feedback from BJCP judges can be. It helps make you a better brewer.
Tim- I like people talking about their beers, and getting feedback on what went right and what went wrong.
Also, maybe there could be some sort of recognition for the people that regularly bring beer to share? Maybe an AHP keychain?
Finally, I'm willing to host Brewcommune anytime. Let's make AHP the designated meeting place.
Tyler and Nick - Glad you made it! I'm sure you'll find the meetings and the people in the club very informative. We're really a good group for helping people new(ish) to the obsession...I mean hobby.
Don - I have your bottle opener.
Tyler (don't know your nickname) - I have your green chair.
In all the excitement I forgot to share my porter! There's always next time.
Cheers!
