Announcing Brew Club Competitions!

Hi Guys,

This year I thought we could to bring some competition to club meetings, so we will be hosting beer competitions at official club meetings (odd months) for anyone who wants to enter! This can be a good way for members who want honest feedback or to get their feet wet with homebrew competitons before entering local ones.

Any member who brings homebrew to share for club meetings can sign up for the competition free of charge. And first place will receive a prize! And top three will receive points going towards a brewcommune award at the end of year at our annual holiday party.

We will be using the Brew Brawl Website for these competitions. We'll have a link in club posts to the competition so you can add your beer ahead of time if you want to keep track of your feedback. But don't worry, if you forget you will be able to add it at the time or meeting. You will need a gmail or facebook account to be able to enter or judge in the competitions, but we do have a brewcommune account for people who don't want to sign into brewbrawl. Just let WillL know and he can get you added. Unfortunately you will not be able to judge if you don't have an account.

Everyone with an account will be able to judge beer regardless if they brought beer or not as long as they have a brewbrawl account on their phone. The judging is anonymous. So you will be able to leave, and receive, honest and indepth feedback.

This January club meeting we had a test run with two beers entered and it seemed to work well with Bob F. taking 1st place!

This competition will not replace the standard homebrew sharing portion of the club meetings.
Because we can vote on our phones we will be able to still give our short presentations on our homebrew while people drinking can give verbal feedback as always.

Because there are prizes involved, these competitions will be only available to paid members.
