Session Ale Recipe

Post by bwarbiany »

I've got some pilsner malt lying around, and need to brew something for the nice hot summer. Thinking of the below. I'm shooting for a lawnmower beer with pilsner and/or lager qualities, but without going full bore down the lager route.

Today I'm thinking this will just be a house beer, but if anyone thinks it's worthwhile to bring a keg of this to SCHF, let me know. If not, I'll brew my RyePA in 2 weeks and bring that to the fest (I can turn that in about 3.5 weeks, so I've got time).

Planning to ferment cool (~58 deg F) for about a week, let rise to 70 for 48 hrs, then crash cool to ~33 deg for a little under a week (w/ gelatin) to clear it.

If I'm not mistaken, the fest is in 2 weeks.

??? How did I miss this? I thought it was at the end of May, not the beginning...

I'd better figure something out quick then, huh?
