You probably have already heard this, but here goes...get the process down using known and trusted kits.
Once you are comfortable with this, then start changing recipes etc. This will avoid trying to make too many changes and not having a good starting point

Sounds like you are almost there. Popcorn applied in the 70's may have asbestos so be careful. Removing CO can be done with of a hood much like what you have in kitchem...just need to pull exhaust out of garage. I have seen garage conversions using a large box fan to move air while door is open. Wha...

Some things to consider...getting rid of heat and carbon monoxide
Also recommend finishing garage with walls and ceiling to keep dust etc to a minimum

+1 with what Dan said...without back gassing, you will get sugaring and that will give nasty germs and bacteria a nice place to hide with no way of removing them besides boiling

After doing some research on these pumps, it seems there are indeed a copy of March pumps. One thing that keeps popping up is the attention to detail. Saw a few pics of poor quality threads and off center discharge holes on the stainless head. Has anyone else seen these issues? Has anyone purchased ...

Thnaks Derrin, I overlooked the gentle boiling part. As for aging, plan is to ferment, rack into secondary then into corney keg for aging. Hopefully it will be ready for our November meeting next year
