You can also increase cooling capacity by using a computer fan to circulate air over cold plate.
Also, baffles to direct air will add more capacity as well

I would not take a chance on spoiling the beer with an insect. Get some new yeast and pitch...maybe two viles are needed if gravity is up there

Here is a link to a PEX FAQ...it is rated up to 200 degrees, however one site says 180 degrees http://www.ppfahome.org/pex/faqpex.html Something to consider is the possible issue of taste...at elevated temps, water and/or wort may pick up undesirable flavors...hay, maybe we could invent a new BJCP c...

PVC fitting will leach solvents at brewing temps...I would avoid using them in any fashion other than for cold water. It's been a while and the idea never panned out, but the main concern was a health one. Assuming fittings could be Jerry rigged, I would still not want to put something into a system...

The only magnets that are strong enough are called "rare earth". The magnets you may find at electronics stores will not work as they are weak compared to rare earth types. If you have an old disk drive, and who does not, open it up and remove the magnets from read/write head. Be careful a...

Mine did same thing...try this fix
Place stir bar in flask and tilt so it rolls to one side. Next place flask near drive magnet and let stir bar "couple" with magnets. It will then work properly
