Re: pH meter

Why did you stop using 5.2?
jward wrote:I'll start taking some readings and ask what you think. I used to use the mash 5.2 product but stopped. I may even fly sparge again to see if/how the pH varies with the runnings.

Thanks

Re: I'm upgrading!

The valves can be moved out by installing a s/s coupling. This will give you about 2 inches from current location. Consider cutting and welding the handle into an "L" shape if couplings are not an option

Re: Where to buy propane burners?

Thanks Derrin I am designing a brew sculpture and am leaning towards the banjo burners with 30# regulator and needle valves on each burner. This should be more than enough for any size kettle I put on it while still being able to use 8 gallon if desired. BTW, vanilla cream ale is ready and there are...

Re: What does oxidated beer taste like?

You are correct in learning from every batch,.,,I sure do As for the debate between liquid and dry yeast, I prefer liquid and have just began using a starter and stir plate. On the last brew, yeast was ptiched arond 9pm and was bubbling away before dawn the next day. This was first time a starter an...

Re: Yeast Starter

This is my first attempt as using a starter. In past have always had success using a single container of liquid yeast but decided to add considerably more yeast to higher gravity brews. After sitting on stirplate for 48 hours, starter will then rest in refrigerator until Saturday morning. I will pos...
