Re: Mash Efficiency
Thanks for the info. Yep doing a fly sparge, but I might need to try batch sparging on the next brew.

Mash Efficiency
My efficiency has dropped a bit over the last few brews. One issue is my new mill and setting up gap, but I wanted to get some thoughts on procedures from fellow brewers. 1. For a 10 gallon batch, how long do you sparge? I normally go 60 minutes but a few things I have read say I should be going 90 ...

Re: Johnson Controls A419 Temp controller
Could just be a bad relay. If I remember correctly, those have relays soldered onto the board. You can unsolder and replace it. Not sure if that's a service that Johnson does or not. Taking it a little further, if it was the relay, you could always use an external SSR (solid state relay) and solder...

Re: Johnson Controls A419 Temp controller
I have not checked it. If I unplug it, let it sit for a few minutes and re-plug it works for one "on cycle" and then shuts down again.DrDually wrote:Are you getting any output voltage? If so, what is it?
On a side note, I installed a new A419 and everything works fine.

Johnson Controls A419 Temp controller
My Johnson Control A419 has begun to stop working intermittently. Anyone every sent one in for repair? Maybe it's not worth it, but if you have and recommend it, please let me know.
Thanks,
Robert

Re: Homebrew Sankey kegs
That's a great question. I have never used a Sankey and not sure what is involved in cleaning, filling and carbing. The wedding is not until the Spring of next year, so I got plenty of time to figure it out, just trying to get ahead of the curve. I'm guessing it's a easy procedure to fill a Sankey. ...

Homebrew Sankey kegs

Anyone have experience with these? I need to keg a beer for a wedding and the only connections available at the location are Sankey.
Open to other ideas.

Re: Newport Beach Brewing Co.
Enter as may styles as you want. Winners from each round will face off in a final round with a recipe provided by our brewer. interesting. I guess at the end they want to find the best brewer not just the best beer submission. Yes, the winning brewer still brews their own winning recipe from their ...
