No thanks Eric. I hear they impart more of a grassy flavor.

Keggle Set
I was offered this set for $300, do you think think this is a good deal? Polished stainless steel kegs converted to kettles (keggles). Note that these are premium non-branded kegs that do not have brewery names stamped in them. These can be used for a RIMS, HERMS, electric or gas fired setup. Using ...

Re: Honey Basil Wheat...Wheat the ****
Even though its not exactly what either was expecting, they are okay with the idea. Thanks for the tip on the Honey, now I just need direction on the basil. Has anyone ever added an herb to brew (basil)?

Honey Basil Wheat...Wheat the ****
I have some friends visiting this weekend who would like a crash course in brewing. One would like to make a Wheat Beer the other wants to clone Honey Basil Ale by Bison Brewing. To make this fun for all I was thinking about a Honey Basil Wheat Beer. (All Grain 5 Gallon batch) I have never had anyth...

Re: AHP competition - August
Is this competition open to all, because I have an amber ready for judging?
If so, where do I drop my beer off?

Re: All Grain: Splitting Mash and Boil?
Thanks for the feedback gents. I won't take the chances and will hammer it out early Saturday morning. In an ideal world I would never consider splitting the process, but my weekends are usually busier than my work week. Brad, thanks for that tip. I usually have everything measured out and ready to ...

All Grain: Splitting Mash and Boil?
When brewing all grain can you split the process into multiple days? Example, Mash one day and boil the following day. If so could this affect the final product?

Re: Valhalla Table
I ate at Valhalla about a month ago with the family and some friends. They offer table service, but usually patrons order from the front (servers wanted to earn a few more bucks in tips). The food was not amazing by any standard, but well worth the price. The real treat is a healthy selection of bee...

Re: Stir Plate Build
I went to Radio Shack as a last resort (don't get the circular magnets). If anyone has a better place, please let me know because I am in the process of rebuilding mine.

Re: Stir Plate Build
Also pay attention to the neg/pos charge on the magnet and the stir bar. My stir bar has one side attracted to a Neg charge and the other to a Pos charge. So on my plate build, I needed two magnets. Two magnets prevented my stir bar from bouncing around. It also helps to have the magnet centered pro...
