Re: dissapointed, and shocked, by my immersion chiller

I've been instructed on the opposite. You want to move water through the ic very slowly, because faster moving water will flow through without fully transferring heat.

Re: Anaheim Brewery

But.. in the last 12 months the local area has welcomed 3 new breweries. It'll be exciting to watch them grow.

Re: Anaheim Brewery

I concur, with reservation. While i agree the 1888 is a standout, I thought the problem with the hefe and brown or whatever was they tasted too similar to it. I came to the conclusion they have a strong house flavor that only works well for the steam beer. Very nutty and sweet.

So I bought an I.c. ob Craigslist last week, and I was amazed at how innefective it was. Yeah. 212 to 120 was like 10-20 min. But 100-70 was like 2 hours. Wtf

Re: Meet me for a Drink!

Maybe we should start using the brew it forward boards I keep seeing. Have you tripped on these? You buy a beer for a friend who's not there. Then the bartender writes his name on the chalkboard and he can claim it when he comes next time. It'd be sweet to show up and have a free beer waiting on you...

They encourage homebrewers to bring an ice chest to the bar and share your beers around. Dan is a homebrewer himself, ...

Re: my #10. human sacrifice ipa

Maybe I should dial it back to 1 1/2 lb. And/or switch to a high gravity yeast.
