Re: how much did your first batch cost?
My Craigslist experience is limited to trying to buy used cars furniture and rent a house. I have yet to find someone who owns the item they're advertising.

Re: how much did your first batch cost?
So I think ill stick with retailers for now. Besides, I get to meet people and ask questions that way. Google maps only shows a few spots in my area. I've been to Addison to Meet eric, but stein fillers is NEVER open, and I don't think zymurguy really exists. There is no building at that address.

Re: how much did your first batch cost?
Wow. Brewers are certainly a helpful bunch. Thanx. I have the worst luck on Craigslist, though. I'm convinced that everyone using it are hookers, muggers, or west African scam artists. I have yet to meet an honest man on there.

Does my list above look like it'll get me through a few batches though? I estimate all that at around 300. Sound about right?

how much did your first batch cost?
I'm hearing wildly different figures for what all this stuff is gonna cost. One guy said 150, another said close to 1000. I'm thinking around 300. There has got to be something I'm not thinking about. I need a steel pot, cleaner sanitizers. Ingredient, Ice, fermenting bucket, secondary carboy, bottl...
Re: im new!
I'm planning about 300 out the door, maybe a little more. Steel pot, deluxe starter kit. Used fridge. One set of specialty grain ingredients.
Re: im new!
I think I want to start out with 2 buckets and a carboy. I'm gonna need a kettle and a fridge. I'm gonna wait to get the outdoor propane. And I figure in for a penny in for a pound, might as well get the full pound of cleaner and all the little bells and whistles
Re: im new!
Thanks for all the help and encouraging words. After checking out Addison. I decided this is a project for after I get my tax return. You'll see me around, I plan,on checking out some of the presentations.

Re: Hi
I just drove up and down valley view for an hour. I can't find zymurguy. My gps says its right in the bridge. I give up.
Re: im new!
Yeah but first I gotta buy the equipment and ingredients and paraphernalia.Im having trouble finding good info on what's the good brands, the overpriced stuff and the crappy. And I don't know what shops I should go to. I live a mile or two from bootleggers. I just need a moderately priced set up tha...
