Well if it is to be a mead .. I'll certainly defer to the master. However, I'm willing to serve up some of the strawberry melomel that took a gold at the international mead fest.

Lemme know!

Raspberry Stout

Gonna brew a stout today ... probably the Oatmeal stout from last year's state fair comp and I'm thinking of trying an experiment .. that is, adding a can or raspberry puree (I'm only going to do 5 gallons). So the question is, when to add? My first notion was in secondary ... racking onto the puree...

how long does it typically take for fridge to reach set temperature. The real question is "How long does it take the sensor to sense the desired temperature?" and the answer is (you gotta love it) ... It depends. Your fridge basically has 2 states, on and off. So it will stay on until the...

No .. no CIP here ... I do empty out the vessels until they're mostly empty and then dump 'em manually. But my Mashtun is still totally manual ... aside from running off at the mouth and pushing my luck .. that is the only exercise I'm getting these days!

It depends on which type of device you're using ... if heating (like for a hot liquor tank) , then select H, if cooling (like a serving fridge / freezer conversion) select C. The temp you select is the temp at which the device turns on, the range allows for a few degrees of change so that there isn'...

The only thing I can think of that might be affected would be if you're using O2 absorbing caps ... I'm not sure they would be as effective if they were constantly covered by your beer. Anyone know for sure? Why in the fridge? Is this a lager of some sort? Or are you just keeping temps in the same f...

Just an FYI ... I've had to fabricate some wrought iron fencing as a part of my backyard remodel (need to bring the enclosing fences up to code). To do that, I cut 2 six foot existing panels down to 16 inch panels .. this left me with 4 panels that needed bottom rail welded on. I bought .065 1 by 1....
