Really bummed that I won't be there tonight. Maybe I can Facetime or Hangout during the style presentation. I was really looking forward to heckling Sam on his first official style presentation.

Re: Founders Brewing California launch parties

I won't be able to make it since I will be in Tennessee again. I will have to live look for some Founders beers there. I am pretty sure they are available there.

Founders Brewing California launch parties

Founders Brewing beers are now available in California. They are hosting a series of events around SCAL. The OC one is at Hollingshead on January 18.

Re: Switching from Propane to NG

I ordered my QD & hoses from Tejas Smoker's. Their hoses are damn sturdy and won't be easily mangled! They had several choices in length & diameter... and will do custom orders(for a large fee!). I had my plumber install the QD on my backyard BBQ gas line, and he put a shutoff valve before ...

I won't be able to make this one. I will be in Knoxville, TN most of the month. I was hoping to have my IPA/IPL beers available to share and compare side by side. Perhaps we can do this for the February confab.

If you can't find the QD hose at one of the big box improvement stores, I got mine at BBQs Galore.

Re: Hoparazzi soft opening

Good to hear that they are finally opening. Also good that the beers were solid. Would be a shame to wait that long to open then have below par beers.

That Derrin guy sounds like a real slave-driver...
If it was for Derrin, I would be glad to do it. Unfortunately, it's for Kaiser.

Re: Doppelbock questions

I'm not sure what your system is like, but your plan looks pretty good. It is definitely going to be malty enough based on the recipe. I would actually mash a little bit lower to get a more fermentable wort. You will still have plenty of residual sugar left by the time the yeast craps out and you wo...

Great day and a good turnout. Sorry I had to leave early, but I needed to brew at home.

Don, sorry I got you all wet.

Looks like I will make it for a little while. I am getting everything ready for my brew day ready tonight, so when I get home tomorrow afternoon, I will just need to turn on the flame.

Re: IPA vs. IPL Experiment

Thanks for the feedback guys. Good stuff. I added some C60 to the recipe for some body to stand up to the hops. Here is the recipe I came up with. I'm not sure about Beersmith's calculations for the whirlpool hop IBUs, but it should be an interesting experiment regardless. I'm using RO water and wor...
