Stuck keg
For the SCHF, one of the kegs I'm using (this isn't Rezzin's keg, it's one I bought from Lars' batch) for the Rye Pale Ale is not flowing. I'm not quite sure why, either. I've tried replacing the out post and all the hardware, cleaning the dip tube, pumping CO2 in the out post @ 50 PSI to clear it, ...

Interesting... I have a similar question, as I've now moved up to 15-gallon batches and want a better burner. Even more interesting is that I have the exact burner you're looking at, and it's not strong enough for the 15-gallon batches. I did find it worked just fine for 10-gallon batches. Starting ...

Great news! Do you have any left for AHA? I need to check on that. I just re-brewed it with some slight changes to the recipe, and that was the beer I brought to the sanity check a week and a half ago. The original was definitely better, so I'm going to try to find a bottle of the original somewher...

Well, I'll be off on the road again. Sadly, though, I'll be in Salt Lake City, so I think I'll forego the opportunity to bring back sub-4% ales with me... My brother-in-law may be heading to the meeting and joining the club, though, so if a guy named Dustin shows up, that's him. Have fun in Tustin g...

If you look at apparent attenuation, and you started at 1.094, you've got about 77-78% attenuation. That's (1 - 21/94). That's pretty healthy attenuation, and I think (especially if you're doing extract + specialty grains) getting higher than that is a difficult thing to do. I think you're in good s...

Pittsburgh, PA - Hereford & Hops (for the travelers)
I'm out in Pittsburgh on business, specifically in a town called Cranberry Township, PA. I had to drop off a few competition beers at Hereford & Hops , a steakhouse/brewpub here in Cranberry. Food was pretty damn good. Steak, prime rib, great seafood, good appetizers. Definitely well above avera...
