Re: Trying to update my recipes w/o current running Beersmith software
Thanks Tim! Family is well--Wyatt has a job, a car, and we're getting ready to start taking him on college tours... I was struck when I logged in here and realized my avatar was him as a toddler standing in front of my old brew rig. Hope all is well with you and yours! Might be worth holding off for...

Trying to update my recipes w/o current running Beersmith software
Hey folks... Long time! I've finally reorganized my garage, allowing an extra freezer, which means my fermentation fridge can again be used for fermentation rather than overload freezer storage. So I'm planning to actually brew for the first time in 4 1/2 years this weekend! Unfortunately, I don't c...

For Sale: Garmin Fenix 3 HR Sapphire
Amazon had a great one-day sale on the Fenix 5X, and I just couldn't pass it up. So I'm selling my Fenix 3 HR Sapphire. The Fenix series is a multisport GPS activity smart watch. This version has a built-in heart rate monitor (I realize that's common now but was the shizznit in 2016), is waterproof,...

Re: Breweries with good setups during COVID
Thanks everyone. I hadn't even heard that Hangar 24 had opened in Irvine. I've always liked their beers, but I think I've only been there once when I had to drop off competition beers. Because who wants to drive to Redlands, ever? I think we'll end up checking that out. But keep the recommendations ...

Breweries with good setups during COVID
Bars are still closed, unless they're "restaurants", which it seems most breweries are finding a way to get around, whether they offered food before this or not. Indoor dining is closed, but it seems a lot of breweries have setup outdoor operations to stay open. Still some breweries [and s...

Brewcommune golf outing? Thinking we could knock together 9 holes at the little course off Jeronimo/Cherry one of these days. Casta del Sol is a great, 18 hole executive course. only like 35 bucks on the weekend. Good option... Since there's the big 55+ community over there, I just assumed th...

I'm trying to get back into the game and Jess is potentially going to give it a shot too, but we don't want to spend money on a brand new set for her in case she hates it. So if anyone has a set gathering dust they're looking to part with, let me know.

Re: DC motor for mill
I'll take it.
I've been long thinking about building a motor and mount for the grain mill, but never quite got around to it. I suppose this might be a fun project.

Had to hit Windsor yesterday for ingredients for two brews. They said business has increased as people are staying at home and brewing. So that's good.

Re: Checking in. How's everyone doing? Anyone Brewing?
There is some positive news out there on treatments and on other fronts (for example, Google on hydroxychloroquine), that is currently being drowned out by the media torrent of bad news, IMO. Hey I have a jug of that in my shed. I'll just chug some of it. Jokes aside. I need to brew... pr...

Doing pretty well here. The kids are their mom's problem until next Friday, so it's pretty just peaceful with the puppy here. Which I guess I never mentioned. Jess and I got a golden retriever, Jake, and brought him home Jan 25. This was a few days after that... He's a lot different now! https://www...

Anyone use Midwest Supplies?
I won a $25 gift certificate in the Chapman Crafted competition and haven't used it. I generally don't buy from Midwest Supplies, and it looks like their free shipping requires a $125 minimum, so I don't foresee myself having much need for this gift certificate, but I don't want it to go to waste. A...

Re: BJCP/Cicerone/beer judge group
We did something similar a few years ago as several people were studying for BJCP. Given how busy people are and how hard it is to get a time for 7-8 people to get together for tasting, we used things like Skype or Google Hangouts and did it remotely. Basically people just all bought the same commer...
