Re: Adding wine yeast to a stuck ferment

Thanks Chris!

Flat and room temperature wise, it taste ok, so I think I will rack to secondary and dry hope as planned, and then bottle. I'd love to get a couple 2.5 or 3 gallon kegs though. Bottling is getting old.

Cheers! :happybeer:

Re: Adding wine yeast to a stuck ferment

Hey Jon, If you used the same grain bill, Beer smith was showing it should finish at 1.018 or so... and both times I brewed this, I was right about where you are.. 1.022. I think its fully fermented. Bottle it and enjoy! -LexusChris Doh! I knew I was forgetting something, I went back and e...

Re: Adding wine yeast to a stuck ferment

Dang! http://gprime.net/board/images/smilies/jawdrop.gif Thanks a ton Pete. That's one huge $#!+ load of info. I could not ask for a more indepth answer. To validate your post, I just checked the gravity and it hadn't budged an inch, and is still sitting at 1.022. Taste wise it's not too bad, but I'...

Adding wine yeast to a stuck ferment

The other day I was planning on racking my Amarillo IPA over to a secondary to dry hop (Last time I dry hopped an IPA in primary I clogged my auto siphon due to the combined hops and trub). It had been a month in Primary but when I tested the FG it was only 1.022 (down from 1.075OG). I had a package...

Nice, I'm thinking I need to get some pH strips. Anyone know where the best place is to get these cheap, like pet shops etc?

Re: Starting My New Build

3 new kettles just dropped off by UPS and by dropped I mean they of course dented one <sigh>. That sucks about the dent, anything you can do about it or are you SOL? I can't wait to see pictures (and eventually the real deal) of your build as you put it all together. Definitely keep us posted. Chee...

Nice idea, how's carbonated Star San work?

Did anyone enter? I didn't quite make it... Amazing how much harder it is to do this when I never bottle beer any more! Sounds so tough. Don't know how you manage  j/k BTW I'm sure you've seen this or heard of similar concepts, but perhaps this would help Cheep and Easy beer gun thread YouTube...

Re: Does North Orange County need a LHBS ?

I voted yes to the poll, purely for selfish reasons. :) I liked being able to stop in on short notice & buy supplies for the weekend brew. --lexuschris Thanks to everyone that submitted comments. Any of you "Yes" voters care to comment on why you think we need a LHBS? Ditto on what Ch...

Any particular price tag you're looking to beat? There are always ones poping up on craigslist, but I'm sure you have a "less than" price in mind.
