One odd question related to jocky boxes...
If you were to use a jocky do you carb the keg to room temperature the keg will be at or the cooled temp (34F?) the beer coming out would be at?

Re: Fermentation Chiller
Awesome Chris! Actually by having the fermenter elevated in the cooler allows for water/coolant to get under and cool from beneath as well. Better then if it was just sitting on the bottom. Like others said, depending on if you are using this as only a fermenting chamber or doubling it as a a HLT/Ma...

Re: March Meeting Tuesday 3/16/10 @ Oggi's in Tustin
Speaking of mead, I found I still had a large bottle of a metheglin I made almost 2 years ago. I took a sample, and it was pretty decent ... but I'm a real amateur at the mead thing. I'll bring it to share, and get some feedback. It is flavored with ginger & oranges.... I can't seem to find my ...

Re: Alternative to a BottleTree
Nice video. If you could show better how you have the bottles draining it might be a little better though. I see the crate on the counter top but from the side view it looks like they are somehow suspended halfway. Cheers! EDIT: Oh wait, I see the crate is upsides down. For silly people like me you ...

Re: Mead Honey Question
Thanks Oskaar, good to know info. I will begin to keep an eye out for some reasonably priced honey. For other inquiring minds, according to this cooking calc the honey weight to gallon ratio is as follows. 18 pound = 1.5 gallon [US] 22 pound = 1.8 gallon [US] I think Lars mentioned something about s...

Slightly more off topic, but did some slightly off topic post get moved to a new location, or just deleted for shits and giggles? Nothing gets deleted unless it's flat out inflammatory or offensive. If I ever do remove a post, which is almost never, the poster will receive a PM notifying them their...

Re: Pin-lock post remover
Just fyi, the posts are interchangeable between pin and ball lock. According to the everything link Kevin posted, your right, but only for cornelius to cornelius. which I assume means, firestones don't work. The question often arises as to whether or not Ball-lock and Pin-lock kegs posts can be int...
