Ok, one more question before the big day. How big of a starter should I make? I got my WLP550, and I have the DME and a suitable vessel ready to go. Mr. Malty's pitching rate calculator says 1.5L for a 1.050 OG beer, which is a guess on my part. Does that sound about right? When should I start it, F...

Thanks guys! I'll definitely have some good questions lined up. I just cracked open a bottle of my java stout after only a week in bottles, and it's already carbing nicely. Good hiss upon taking off the cap, and a nice, two finger, rocky, lacy head in the glass. There was only a touch of carbonation...

Thanks! One question that I didn't get a chance to ask tim- what sort of yeast are people going to be using? I'm thinking either WLP550 or WLP570, depending on what I'll be able to find at Stein Fillers...
