Re: American Wheat recipe
Used the hulls, and had zero issues with the mash. :happybeer: My biggest issue was dealing with the 85-F ambient temp on brew day! Garden hose on the IWC got me to 85 .. had to put a lid on the fermenter and store it my cold room for a few hours before pitching. Bubbling along now, and still trying...

Re: Wanted: Propane Burner
Althought a bit more $$$, a high-pressure burner like this may be better for the 60 qt. boil keetle you have. http://www.williamsbrewing.com/images/product_images/thumb_images/E53.JPG Although it comes with a propane tank connector, it does have attachable legs which raise the burner height to 23&qu...

American Wheat recipe
Heyas, I was reading the last issue of Brew Your Own, and their story on 'Summer Suds'. With all the heat this past week or two, a nice clean, crisp, summer wheat beer would be awesome! They had a Laht Neppur Brewing Co. American Wheat clone recipe, which I modified slightly. I am going for somethin...

Re: Kegerator Tap Cleaning
Being new to kegging, trying to follow all the suggestions here. Brad, are you saying that you use the beverage out port of the keg to rack from the fermenter directly into the keg, thus filling it from the bottom of the keg? That would be cool! Also, as I pour off my keg, I am getting a lot of yeas...

Re: Next recipe.. An Old Ale
Well, I wandered through my first kegging session tonight and put this bad boy into the Kegerator. I went slow since all the keg stuff is new to me, and found some tidbits on the forums & supplier sites to help me through. (the CO2 regulator was a tad confusing at first.. having never used anyth...

Finally finished the kegerator this week! Yeah!! kegerator01.jpg Sorry for the lousy pic quality on the first pic... Re: Need help improving the taste of my beer
FYI ... tried AG#1 again over the 4th weekend. The extra month of aging has softened a lot of the hard edges to this one. Less astringent, and less bitter... Getting more drinkable..
Thanks again all!

Re: I'm New to Orange County
Welcome to Orange County and brewcommune! Enjoyed your blog! Loved the labels! Everyone gave the bottle shop suggestions I had. BevMo has a pretty wide selection, and I liked that Tustin Wine & More shop Derrin mentioned too! Whole Foods recently found me some Stone Sublimly Self-Righteous Ale ....
