Stiegl - Austrian Pilsner
My 4th of July has officially started when a customer, I won't play favorites and name names - ArrogantDan, stopped by with a bottle of Stiegl and to pick up supplies. How cool is that!!! I ***LOVE*** my job! Pilseners are usually not to my liking, being IMO bland and too dry, which is why I like Ko...

Re: Who's brewing this weekend??
I did my first batch at the shop on Wednesday. Total chaos. Had to run off to Costco for some lighters and scrubbies. Didn't get mashed in until 12:30pm. Then I forgot to put the carboys in the temp controlled fridge. Came in the next day to 78 degrees temps! I am glad I like fruity flavored...

For the Kolsch I cheated. I primaried for 2 weeks then secondaried for another 2, instead of lagering. Maybe that's why I took second and not first... ![Very Happy :D](./images/smilies/icon_biggrin.gif)

Re: Hydrometer sample off the carb'd keg...
Why are so desperate for a hydrometer reading? Just curiosity? Did you bet someone on what your finishing gravity would be? Since moving the brewery to my house, I've got a different fermentation fridge and I'm now using a new fermenter ( the Sanke keg conversion ). I've done three batches since: M...

Re: SD County Fair
Maybe you should have entered Addison's comp for feedback instead. :) Brent and Robert were very thorough and generous with their feedback. I however am just learning. While I didn't leave any comments as sparse ad Brad's judge, it was difficult to find the vocabulary to decribe things. This is my ...

You guys managed to brew an excellent AIPA and included sage as the star ingredient. It was unusual and unnamimously the favori...

Re: Does North Orange County need a LHBS ?
Forums are very helpful, but I learn best from talking with others like Dan and Eric and picking their brains. So in my opinion, buying my supplies at a LHBS like Addison's is a way for me to pay back the education I receive. Thanks Matt! That kind of loyalty goes a long way. Robert aka Brew Captai...
