WTF is SMOQUED?
I know nothing about it, but it sounds like craft beer and wood-smoked animal carcass...
...these are a few of my favorite things!

They're pretty much directly across from Bruery Provisions in Old Town Orange. It's what it sounds like, a smoke house, in house bacon, cool stuff like that. It was opened just last year by Mike (the former bartender at TBC) and a few partners so they have a diverse beer menu as well. I haven't had a chance to eat there yet, but been planning on it.

OK, the wife and I went.
I guess I was spoiled by the Stone Tap Takeover at Hamiltons Tavern in San Diego a while back. Gerg Koch was there, they catered the event, and had all sorts of interesting cask and one off draft selections. It was quite an event. The event at Smoq'd (the old Beach Pit BBQ) was quite subdued. Not sure if amny people knew there was something going on with the beer selection. We've been to Smoq'd a few times. The food is good. The beer selection is good too. My only experiences with BBQ have been Chris and Pitts out here, and a BBQ joint being run out of someone's house in Mobile Alabama. The food there was AMAZING! I think that place is what BBQ fans all hope to find. I haven't had anything like it here in California. Probably never will. Having said that, y'all need to try Smoq'd and post back here what you thought.

I've eaten there. The beer selection and food are good. It's worth a visit.
