Subject: NHC Online Entry is Open!

Hi everyone,
Thanks for your patience! The Online Registration for the 2009 National Homebrew Competition (NHC) is now open!

http://www.brewingcompetition.com/NHC/nhc.php

Many of you have noticed the new rule about the 750 entry limit for each of the regions. The most entries received in an NHC region was 701 entries in the Old West Region last year. The AHA Governing Committee Competition Sub-Committee and the AHA staff believe it is necessary to limit the entries in order to ensure the integrity of the judging. If we allowed the number of entries to go unchecked in all the regions, the competition organization in some of the regions would be stressed. Hopefully these limits won't be necessary.

Key items to keep in mind:
+ Online Payment is required this year.
+ You cannot print your labels until you have paid for your entries.
+ The maximum number of entries for each region is 750 paid entries.
+ You don't have to pay immediately; however...
+ The system will count all registered entries against the 750 limit.
+ When the 750 limit has been reached, unpaid entries left unpaid for longer than 24 hours may be deleted and more entries can be registered in the newly opened spots.
+ No paid entry will be deleted.
+ If you have registered your entries and paid the entry fees, all you have to do is ship your bottles with a copy of your Online Payment Receipt to the correct shipping location to arrive between March 25th and April 8, 2009 like usual.
+ Only online-registered entries for which online payment has been received will be entered in the 2009 National Homebrew Competition.
+ The Online Registration Program will be closed at 5 p.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2009.

Good Luck in the competition!

Cheers,
Janis Gross

I think I'll enter a RIS, and maybe something else if I've got something outstanding around submission time. With the way my brew schedule is going, I'll be lucky to have something on tap, much less something outstanding that I can bottle. :)

I've got an IPA that will likely be kegged next weekend, and that's it...

If it turns out decent, Dustin and I will bring one keg of it for the SCHF.

I have an English Old and a Peach ale. My dopplebock will have to wait until next year.
