FREE COOLERS!

Post by kevinham »

I asked my boss if I could borrow a couple coolers for the weekend, and he told me to take as many as I want, and keep them.

Soooooo of course I took this as an opportunity to clean out our warehouse and help some of you guys out. The lab I work at has TONS of them, in all sizes from lunch box up to like 60 qt (maybe bigger I really don't know how to check, but some of these things are huge). All slightly to very used (I would get the nicest looking ones), and obviously could use a deep cleaning. None were used for anything hazardous, just soil and water samples in jars and tubes, or bottles.

Let me know what you want, and how many. I can grab a couple for the fest this weekend if someone needs them, but I have a little car. The rest I can get in the next couple weeks. Depending on how this goes, it might be a limited time offer, I don't want to give them all away.

I'll take a lunch box sized one (one that will fit a few beers for transport) and a 60qt. Let me know if you need a hand with anything.

Ok I checked and it looks like we have one 70 qt, a couple that look about 60 qt, and a bunch of 52 qt and under.

Hmm... I guess whichever looks cleaner between the 60qt and 70qt but I think the 60 will hold me over just fine. Thanks Kevin.

I'd like a 70 or 60 qt one if you've got em. I could use a bigger mash tun for 10G batches.

If you have any left I'd like to get a 60 or 52 quart chest, so count me in.

Great find, thank you for putting it out there for us greedy old brewers!

Cheers,

Pete

I can come by with my work truck and get a whole bunch of them and store them in my shed or sideyard so when somebody's got the need they can come and get one.

I'd also like a couple of the smaller lunch box to 20 qt. size please, say 3 small and 2 medium. I've already got a 100 and 2 150 qt monsters.
Cheers,
Lyn

I am bringing a 52, 60 and 70 qt cooler to my house tonight, as well as some smaller ones stuffed inside. Lyn if you want to drive out to Santa Fe Springs to get them that's fine. Otherwise I will be bringing these home a few at a time.

I am going to be using one of the bigger ones this weekend, and after that it is up for grabs. The rest are available, if someone wants to get one tonight PM me.

I'll take the biggest cooler that hasn't already been claimed.

I need a good cooler. Our brewing cooler (which was very small and only used for prechiller ice) just got a broken handle, so it is now ONLY good for brewing, and that's the only one I had.

I just got a bunch more coolers that I will be bringing over to Lyn's tonight. No more really big ones left but most of these are about 50 qts or so I think. This will be about all I can get I think. Once the warehouse guys saw me grabbing coolers last week, and I convinced them it was ok, they must have helped themselves too. We definitely took care of our cooler problem.

I'm gonna try and swing by tonight too for just a few. I'm bringing back the burner I borrowed from Lyn and I'll bring over the converted cooler for you too. If you take off early, give me a ring. I will hopefully be by around 9pm or so.

Yeah, Mike's gotta spit-polish his boil kettle after he's finished brewing so it'll take a while :P :P :P
