I know there are threads on other forums about this, but as a conversation piece I'd like to hear what other Bruecommune members and local homebrewers have to say about using Fermcap-S.
Anyways, to start, I have only recently heard about it and have it in my B3 shopping cart ready to order once I gather enough needs to fill a $60 order. Of course I'll gladdly buy it at BP if they are carring it.

It works especially well if you're cooking starters in your flask on the stove.

I don't use it, not because I have any particular aversion to it, just because I really haven't needed it.
Re: Fermcap-S (Boil over and blow off protection)
I use it every time I brew. I put "meh", simply because I am not sure how much I really need it. I am happy with my results using it, so I will keep doing it. If I run out, I probably won't buy it unless I notice a change. Definitely works though. You can add it during the boil to prevent boil overs or in primary to prevent blow-offs.

Oh and BP should have some next week. It is on our next order, which should be placed soon.

+1 on the cooking starters in the flask. Definately a convenience there.
I put it in my fermenter last batch and even though it didnt blow off, It still generated a good 2.5 inches of froth. Im not convinced of it being useful in that area yet.....

I bought some to try, but don't seem to remember to use it.
