Lagunitas Wilco Tango Foxtrot (WTF) Ale

Post by lexuschris »

Was at BevMo and saw the March special from Lagunitas Brewing Company. Their 'jobless recovery' Imperial Brown, "Wilco Tango Foxtrot" ale.

It is awesome!

A dark amber, lightly carbonated with a thin head, it has a heavy body with lots of malty mouthfeel. The american citrus hops balance well, but it remains more malt forward than say a Sublimely Self-Righteous Ale (which it reminds me of .. in a 'little brother' way).

7.83% ABV is all the website or bottle gives up on this fine beer. LIke the Union Jack IPA, I love the way the heavier body & malt can support some rich hop flavors. Hoppy, but it glides along the palatte.. yumm!

Cheers!

n.b. this review was influenced by the comsumption of WTF ale... YMMV.. :happybeer:

I had this on tap at the Anthill Pub.. Enjoyed it quite a bit.
I also liked the New Belgium Eric's Ale.
