Kegging help

Post by floyd »

I bought a kegging system a couple weeks ago and today I was finally ready to try it... but seem to be having some difficulty.
I attached the regulator to my 5lb co2 tank but whenever I open the valve on the tank co2 starts venting. The only time it doesn't do this is if I open the valve very slowly and have the psi set correctly.. but I have to quickly close it again to prevent venting.
Am I missing something? Or could I have a faulty tank or regulator?
Thanks!!

Make sure the regulator is TIGHT against the bottle.

I will try some teflon tape but the regulator is very tight against the bottle. I'm not sure what good looking for leaks would do since I already know where it's leaking from.. It's venting directly from the cobra tap on the tank. Does this mean I have a faulty tank?
I should be able to open the tank valve without this happening shouldn't I?
