Yeah, definitely time for a new one. Figure this one lasted me 18 years... it was good value. :)

I do have a refractometer, and I guess I can start using it for the pre-fermentation gravities.

While looking around for hydrometer options (BTW Derrin, Austin Homebrew has the 3 narrow range hydrometers on their webpage.), I found something I had not seen before.

Hah! I saw those things. If they were considerably larger.... they'd match the balls I brew with..... Because......... I've got big balls...dirty big balls.....

Yeah, those look pretty interesting... But since I ferment in a closed stainless tank, I've got no use for them.

(you have to get past a commercial to get to the bit ...)
