Congrats Bradley!

Damn... I wonder if the hot-side aeration got me again!BrewMasterBrad wrote:Just got home from the 23rd Annual Southern California Regional Homebrew Championship. Brewcommune almost got shutout at this one. I only walked into the award ceremony just before it ended, but brahn was there the entire time. I believe the only ribbon we got was a 2nd place for my Traditional Bock.

Hey fellow, er, friends!
I also judged here and did Cat 24, 25 & 26 meads and melomels.
Lots of mediocre ones, 2 stellar 1st place ones and one you'd not use to kill a yak with that we could not even judge....
Saw Brad and Brent too.
Hope to see you on Tue.
Here's the listing of all categories winners(most are IEB & RHB but a few local's from Barley bandits) :

I still have not recieved sheets or ribbon yet either. I did send a e-mail a week or so ago, no reply.
Re: Upcoming Comps
They pretty much say the USPS must have lost them. I guess I'm out of luck. I don't plan to enter the IEB again.

Re: Upcoming Comps
TVHA Competition - Dec. 11
It's only two bottles and $5 per entry. Should be a fairly small competition. They are also looking for judges.
If you want to enter, but don't want to drive all the way to Temecula to drop off, you can use my house as a drop off point and I will deliver your entries with mine. Entries are due December 3. I know it's short notice, but I just found out about this morning.

Coming up -- Pizza Port is having a pro-am qualifying homebrew competition in advance of the AHA NHC.

Looks interesting. Slightly unorthodox beer categories, there's definitely some differences between these and the standard BJCP categories.

Re: Upcoming Comps
Those are not the BJCP guidelines. Those are the Brewers Association guidelines that they use at professional comps like GABF and World Beer Cup. They are using these guildelines since it is a pro-am competition.

Re: Upcoming Comps
Did I read it correctly, they want 6 12oz bottles for an entry!? Dang!
I really want to enter my robust porter in something soon, it is tasting really good right now...
Any other competions coming up in the first few months of the year?

Six bottles is too many for me to part with for one competition. That's ridiculous.
