Heading to Oregon

Post by BrewMasterBrad »

Taking a short trip to Eugene and Portland next weekend since my daughter is considering attending the University of Oregon. I plan to visit the Eugene City Brewery. Any other suggestions?

Brahn posted this link to a similar inquiry in January which really helped. I was only able to hit Widmer Brothers as I had some suits in tow. IIRC they only do tours on weekends, but then that doesn't sound like it will be a problem for you. I was surprised by their wide variety of micro brews since I was only aware of their bread and butter Hefe which I'm not a true fan of. Their restaurant was also very nice.

Thanks for the tips guys. I will try to take some pictures while we are there. If my daughter does decide to attend UofO, I will definitely try to get up there to do some fishing while visiting.

If you find a Rogue outlet (I hear there might be one in Eugene  ), be sure to try their distilled spirits. When I was up in the Bay Area for New Years, I was able to sample their Gin...quite good.

No kidding. Where did that come from? Nice to see you posting on here Mike.

We are flying into Portland because there aren't that many flights into Eugene. Being able to drive to Eugene and staying in Portland on Saturday night are just excuses to stop by more breweries.
