Jockey Box

Post by JonGoku »

One odd question related to jocky boxes...
If you were to use a jocky do you carb the keg to room temperature the keg will be at or the cooled temp (34F?) the beer coming out would be at?

The answer is, it doesn't really matter. Why? Because the volume of co2 you get dissolved into your beer will be the same. You use different pressures at different temps becuase the temp of the beer affects how much co2 gets into solution. However having said that, I do prefer to condition my beer cold.
Shut up and brew

Interesting, thanks for that info.

I'm pretty interested in the jocky box, but just haven't had the time to give it much thought. I just got back home late last night after a weeks business trip to Japan. Will let you know in a couple days after giving it some more thought.

Cheers!
