Re: Anyone Interested in a Brutus Stand?
I would be interested in seeing the stand designs and dimensions that others have come up with. Anyone care to share theirs?

Dan - any status updates on this?

I am just about done with the dimensions for my gravity stand...making me last is GREAT!dhempy wrote:Hello Everyone:
He and I will revisit everyone's dimensions, customizations etc. and we will contact each of you. Eric, you still have time to get us your dimensions ... we can do your stand last.
Let me see if I can list everyone (BY their BC ID)
JonW
Oskaar
Kevinham
(Kevinham's co-worker ... don't know the handle)
Floyd
Carbon
OC Eric (gravity stand)
PM me if I have something wrong.

Well, as they say, the best laid plans ... got moved to this weekend. It looks like fabrication will start this Sunday. I believe Joe will start on yours first. We will call you before things get kicked off.JonW wrote:Dan - any status updates on this?
I will probably have to make a couple of trips with stands.

Re: Anyone Interested in a Brutus Stand?
The material finally arrived at Joe's workshop today ... cutting the rest of the shelves required a torch setup and a couple of hired hands (and of course, took longer than expected). We rented a trailer and brought the steel tubing across town this morning and stacked it at the shop.
We will be making a trip out to Industrial metals Friday to pick up gusset material for JonW (at a minimum). The gussets will go in the corners on the top of the stand (see Jon's plans). If anyone else wants these, please let me know ASAP. I will try to call everyone tomorrow to get their input.

Oskaar, Second Home, Floyd, and MaltBarley, please contact me regarding specs for your stands. I left everyone except Maltbarley a phone message Friday.

Re: Anyone Interested in a Brutus Stand?
The new brew stand arrived today. Wow! This thing is stout!
Joe did a very nice job on the welding and followed the specs I requested to a "T". Thank You Joe!
Dan, I really appreciate you working with Joe to bring this opportunity to the club members. There's absolutely no way for someone to get a better deal on a custom stand (other than doing it yourself). Thank You Dan!
I'm really excited to start the conversion over from my old system.

That is a sweet looking stand.
Re: Anyone Interested in a Brutus Stand?
You are welcome Jon! Four stands delivered to happy brewers today.
I will pass your thanks along to Joe ...
While it was a long "journey", Joe did have a good time fabricating the stands. He built some jigs to facilitate the assembly. And, as with any good project, we killed a couple of tools too!
For all of you new stand owners ... please post pics so we can see how your project progresses!

I think we need to have a photo shoot with all the BC systems, new and old.

Re: Anyone Interested in a Brutus Stand?
I've made a little progress on the stand. I have the gas plumbing done. I'll be hooking my fluid plumbing back up similar to how it was on my old stand so I can get back to brewing right away, but I'll be sourcing some new 3 way SS electronic valves to fully automate it. I just ordered the BCS-460, so that will be the control system.
I will likely be having the base stand powder coated (probably black). If I was thinking ahead, I would have got it to the powder coater this week as I'm leaving tomorrow for 10 days. It could have been done by the time I got back.

Looking good! Might want to hold out and see when the BCS-462 is going to be released.

Re: Anyone Interested in a Brutus Stand?
At almost double the price for the BCS-462, I'm fine with the 460. I don't need more than 4 temp probes and the expansion card was cheap to get me more inputs/outputs.
