Full Bore 1/2" Hose Barbs
After looking high and low for a 1/2" barb fitting that didn't choke down to 3/8", I finally had one made:
Side X side with a standard 1/2" hose barb:
Comparison of bore diamters:
1/2" full bore hose barb

For BC members they're $10 each ($11 on the website) They're a little spendy compared to standard ones, but if you're running a March pump I really recommend people splurge for at least the inlet side of their pump(s).

I hate you Derrin. I hate you and your stainless steel beer porn. Damn you.
Now I am trying to count how many of these I have on my system and figuring out how much it's going to cost to replace them.
How about a female thread X barb one? That way I can leverage the existing QDs on my system like this one:
Mated to something like this:
MoreBeer sells the QDs with barb fittings rather than threaded, but I think the ID closer to 3/8.

Wait till you see the 1" tri clover butterfly valves with welded-in dip tubes/racking arms that I'm welding up right now
Depending on how these sell, I may have that version made as well. I thought about it originally, but it keeps coming back to that whole limited capital problem!

It's all good until customs decides you don't really need those until Valentine's day (or was that St. Patrick's day).backyard brewer wrote:Well Brad, you're wish is my command.... The female version should be here in about 3 weeks +/-BrewMasterBrad wrote:How about a female thread X barb one?
