Entries (2 bottles each) are due by Feb. 5. I drive to San Diego every Thursday, so if you have your entries to me by Feb. 2, I can deliver them on Feb. 3.

I was able to swing by Ale-Smith this weekend .. grabbed lunch at Stone too! (Yummm... Bruschetta BLT w/blue cheese!!!)

Dropped off my Sedona Porter, and my Holiday spiced brown ale... looking for a few more comps to send these into while they are still good. :D

Oh, and I did fill my growler with their Double Dry Hopped Lucky Bastard ale .... Stunningly good stuff!

While I did remember to show my AHA membership card for 1$ off the growler fills, I forgot to use in on the meal tab... :(

Guess I'll just have to make it down there again to get that discount!

I was hoping to get down there for work this week, but didn't quite make it.

Now I want to go just to SD just to visit Stone for the Double Dry Hopped Lukcy Basardt Ale!

Just got an email from the comp coordinator. Results will be posted tonight or first thing tomorrow morning. QUAFF's regular club meeting is tonight and they will announce the winners there and then post them on their web site.

Thanks Chris.

Full results are posted here - http://www.quaff.org/afc_page/2011_AFC_Results.pdf

Something fishy about the comp coordinator winning BOS and 7 first place ribbons. :?

Got my score sheets already. Here's the breakdown:

3A - Vienna - 35.5
8A - Standard Ordinary Bitter - 36
12A - Brown Porter - 30
13A - Dry Stout - 31.5
19C - American Barleywine - 33.5

Pretty happy with all the feedback, but there was one scoresheet that I couldn't even read due to horrible penmanship. While the SOB was my highest scoring beer, the two judges had conflicting opinions on the bitterness level. One thought it was too balanced toward the bitter side and the other judge said it was not as bitter as expected for the style. Neither of them noticed the fact that I used all domestic 2-row and no English malts at all. The Porter got knocked for being oxidized, which is strange since I bottled all these beers at the same time using the same technique (BeerGun) and none of the other beers got dinged for oxidation.

Congrats again Brad. :happybeer:
by the way, was that the same barleywine that you entered in the batch 300? if so it would be interesting to se the score sheets side by side.

Yes, it is. Still no score sheets from Batch 300. What a bunch of slackers. :happybeer:
