That's the third win for my Big Hairy Monkey Barleywine (Batch 300 and Hangar 24 were the other two). I might have to brew that one again. I entered it as an English Barleywine this time instead of an American Barleywine. I have fermented that Vienna recipe now with three different yeasts and it has won or placed at several competitions with each yeast strain. One of these days, I will have to brew it with each strain and compare them side by side.
Today is Big Hairy Monkey's birthday. I brewed that beer on July 31, 2010. Wish him a happy birthday.

I did not enter nationals this year because of logistical oversights by me. That's one of the reasons I had so many beers entered in the Hangar 24 competition this year. Those beers were originally bottled for nationals, but they never made it.
