SCHF volunteer page is open!

Post by spkrtoy »

The volunteer page is up and ready to accept volunteers for the Southern California Homebrewers’ Festival. Each person that volunteers works a 2 hour shift in exchange for free membership to the California Homebrewers Association, which gets them entry to the Southern California Homebrewers festival.

To volunteer go to the California Homebrewers’ Association page at http://www.calhomebrewers.org/ and click on “Volunteer Registration”. Volunteer positions are filled on a first-come first-served basis and will close once all of the positions are filled, so register ASAP. Volunteers should not purchase a CHA membership.

Club reps, please get this message to your members ASAP.
Cheers,
Lyn

Kevin,
Sounds good! It's really easy work and you get to meet a lot of nice people!

I've got 3 full campsites and 2 are unspoken for. We're coming in Friday afternoon and leaving Sunday morning. The cost for a full site for the weekend is $68 and I paid for them 2+ months ago in advance.

Let me know if you want one for you and your friends as it's first paid, first one gets one! At the last meeting, the Board was looking for open places because almost all of the campsites were reserved and there's still a lot of people who want to camp but can't get a site.
Cheers,
Lyn

Yeah I will take one I guess. Do we need a whole site just for one tent? Anyone want to split one or something?

I signed up on the volunteer site, but I haven't heard anything back. Anyone else have this problem?

Yes, I haven't heard anything either. I'd like to at least know if they need me before they close the discounted-rate membership!

I wouldn't worry about it guys. I have volunteered a couple times in past years and haven't heard anything until a couple weeks before the fest. The worst case is that you end up with parking lot duty in the mid-day sun.

The same goes for me. If you want you can send vin ludwig an email or three. I did that last year to Bruce and I got an email a week before the fest with my "duties".

Hmm... So I'm assuming they got my volunteer registration, even though they've never acknowledged it...

Lyn,

Did you write back to Mike Sunny and let him know that we have several people volunteer and have not heard anything back? I can do it if you want.

I've gotten my assignment for Sun. cleanup from 8-10 as a volunteer.

Anyone else???

WhooHoo, free entry for an hour of my time. I usually do policing late sat. nite to let the other clubs know they need to keep their site trash free. We'll see how it goes at this new venue.
