AHA National Homebrew Comp. entries due 4-11-08!

Post by spkrtoy »

Bringing another thread up on this.

Who's got something to enter?
Entry's due 2-1/2 weeks.

I'm going to send off:
Belgian Strong Dark 18D and as an Old Ale cat 19C
Belgian Strong Golden in cat 16E (too dark for a golden, so I may enter as a triple or saison)
Rezzin's California Common (to save the extra $5 entry fee)

Is anyone going to be going down to Alesmith to save on shipping fees?

NHC 2008 AleSmith Brewing Company
9368 Cabot Drive
San Diego, CA 92126
Cheers,
Lyn

I'm planning to enter a RIS, maybe an American Stout and maybe a not-to-style American Amber. It depends on how motivated I get to bottle the American Stout and if the amber finishes in time.

As one who just finished signing a refi monster paperwork signing, the $90 that Brad's spending is nothing compared to the $$$$3+K I'm going to pay.

I hope that all of our entries place, at least, and one wins BOS. That's the way to get BrewCommune on the map and in the pages of history, er, zymurgy. Hell, Derrin's BOS at OC fair was never recognized (probably due to the comp. coordinator not wanting to give us the credit we deserve), or probably due to an oversite. Hmmm, I digress, but it'll do us good to spend a little cash for entry fees to help promote our club. Maltose, Quaff and IEB have well over 100 members so we could use some international exposure!

OK, Off my soapbox.

Thanks Dan! That Straw Mel should go to BOS, again!!!

Thanks to Brad for doing the drive, now we need to have these ready, probably by Friday at my house, or they can get picked up at the Bruery on the 5th for our TVHA meet.

Rezzin, BeerGun???

OK gotta go and add more carbonation to my beers.

Writers and typers cramp, uggggghhhhhhhhhhhhh........

Lyn

I'm going to enter a schwartzbier and a scotch ale. My Bo pils that I had high hopes for just isn't going to be worthy. Too bad too, it's crystal clear and almost looks polished. I think dry hopping the keg would bring it around, but I don't have time for that.

What day is the judging going to be done? My bro-in-law planned to bottle our milk stout this previous Monday (to submit to Mayfaire), but couldn't get around to it. It might be a few days until we can get this done... Just want to make sure I'm not going to submit a flat beer.

I think this is posted somewhere else as well, but here it is again. The link to register your beers online. You can even pay online, so the only thing you send to AleSmith is one bottle of each beer/cider/mead with the label attached via rubberband.

Thanks Mike, I appreciate the beer gun too! It's sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet!

Took us 10 min to do 3 different beers, and I would not have even gotten my CPF cleaned in that time, so it's well well worth it.

Thanks again too for the computer wireless help too tonite. Hope you don't get busted for coming over to help out with the smoke damage to your clothes. I'll have to go out to the street to indulge, er, imbibe so your wife does not get the wiff on your clothes.

Thanks, and thanks again.
Cheers,
Lyn
