I saw that on there. That is A LOT of stuff though, I wonder what a "reasonable offer" is to this guy.

Well, DME goes for $3 a pound and I gather that there's about 350-400 pounds of it plus the other stuff. I'd go and offer $500 and see what he say's. You don't know until you ask!

Haha, I don't have $500 to spend on anything. I offered $50, we will see what he says to that!

I'm guessing a two-word answer...

He must have been in business or something, who buys that much DME?

Yeah I am expecting that, but I asked him what he wants for it. I don't like when people do that. If you are going to auction it off, you better expect a low starting bid. If you expect a lot for it, then say so. :x

I think that might be the old Beach Cities guy Steve. He was building Shrine of the Brew God kits for sale at Hi-times.

Here is the email I got back. Maybe they should open a homebrew store instead of putting it on craigslist.
What is it that you are wanting to nid on? a bucket?? I am not just selling the 5 gallon bucket, one bag of grain, and a DME. If you read the ad of all my items I am selling you will realize that it is almost as much as what a retail store has. Like I have said serious offers. I've already have a starting bid at $1000.00 that only covers some of my DMEs
I tried reading the whole ad, but my brain gave up halfway through that giant run-on sentence.

What a dick. If you want "serious" bids how about saying "serious bids over $1000 please" instead of leaving it open-ended.

I'm curious: what's a "nid"?
What is it that you are wanting to nid on
Yeah, the guy's off his fffin rocker if he does not know what he's selling's worth.

sorry for posting it, but I thought it'd be interesting :P , to say the least

Who knows how old that DME is, and the rest sounds like a bunch of crap. He doesn't have an offer for $1000, that's for sure. Offer him $100 and risk another rude eMail? I think it would be worth it!

Yeah I saw it before, but ignored it. Seeing it again I just couldn't help myself. I had to mess with this guy.

Yeah that is a good idea. They can send all the rude emails they want, this is silly.

I think everyone should email and offer $25 or something. Maybe I will end up being the highest (real) bidder and get it all!

IMHO Steve was a tool who was a user. I spoke with him in the shop several times and he was always after me to give him recipes so he could sell them in kits and was surprised when I mentioned that I'd have to be getting a little sweetness on the deal if that were the case. He also never answered emails (he hid behind that obnoxious Earthlink spam filter and never responded back) but didn't fee shy about sending SPAM to you about his specials and sales.

Frankly, I don't really miss him.

Cheers,

Oskaar

Oh, by the way I just looked and the email came from a lady named Sue, who apparently by part of her email address is a "South Asian Angel"
