November Meeting
The November meeting will be held at our regular meeting place at "Out of the Park Pizza" in Anaheim. Tues. Nov. 20 7pm
The Holiday season is on us already! Bring some samples of your Thanksgiving brews!
For Thanksgiving, I'll be serving some family favorites including an IPA and Blonde.

Re: November Meeting
I still need to warn the wife about this one, but I think Nevery and I are planning on bringing the temp-controlled and non-temp-controlled DIPA's to this meeting for the comparison... So that should be fun.
I'd love to have any BJCP folks (or novices w/o credentials) take some time and score both. It would be a really good comparison.
(Hmm, I wonder if it would be something Zymurgy or BYO would accept as an article submission -- I could get "famous" )
EDIT: Update: I've actually submitted this as an article idea to both Zymurgy and BYO. We'll see if it goes anywhere...

I'll see ya guys there. I don't have a "fall" beer per say, but I do have a Swcharts/brown porter that I did with US-05, fermented at lager temps.

Something came up, I'm not going to be able to make it tonight.
Enjoy the brews!

Re: November Meeting
Out of the Park Pizza posted a notice on their Facebook page that they are closed tonight for maintenance!
Do we move to an alternate spot or re-schedule?

Re: November Meeting
Out of the Park Pizza just posted the following message on their Facebook page:
"Sorry to say but we are going to be closed tonight for maintenance"
If we need a last minute backup place, our backyard patio is open.

Re: November Meeting
I called Out of the Park to confirm their closing tonight. They are having plumbing issues and yes, they are closed.
There will probably be some members who show up there tonight. It would be good to have an alternate meeting place that is close by so that no one has to turn around and go home.
Slaters 50/50 is only 2 miles away.
They have a great line up of beer on tap.
I called them and they said 7pm is OK.
I don't know if they will allow homebrew, but maybe we can talk to the manager while we're there.
I'll post a note at Out of the Park with a map around 6:00 then head over to 50/50

Re: November Meeting
Don, are you saying we should just bring homebrew and hope they'll let us drink it? Can you talk to the manager prior to our arrival? I don't want to pour bottles from my kegs if it ends up I can't serve it.backhousebrew wrote:I called them and they said 7pm is OK.

Re: November Meeting
I talked to the manager "Tom"
He said OK to bring in homebrew. They will waive the corkage fee.
The manager tonight at 7 will be "Rob". Tom will let him know our arrangement.
See you tonight.

I live near both. I'll tape a sign on the door in case people go there.

It's very loud in there...can we try the Bruery?
Also, I could host on my patio in Orange...bring a chair.

Re: November Meeting
That's awesome Don - and thanks for scrambling to get a last minute location.
As great as Out of the Park is, I'm really digging the fact that we're going to Slaters!

Those both sound like good options.maltbarley wrote:It's very loud in there...can we try the Bruery?

If things aren't working at Slaters, we may need a backup plan.
