Just an early head's up ... 2014 Pacific Brewer's Cup registration opens in 2 weeks. Submission deadline is Aug 22nd. Judging is Sep 6th.

I would enter this in category 23. Category 23 is kind of a catch-all category for experimental beers like the one you describe. You will need to state the base style and what differentiates it from a standard APA.

Make sure you specify the style and what makes it different, or they really won't be able to judge your beer at all.

Anyone else entering this one? None of the drop off points are very convenient for me. I guess Steinfillers is the best bet for most of us.

I have a German Pilsner, APA, and IPA that I am thinking of entering.

I think I'm going to enter my Kolsch... It'll either smooth out and hopefully do alright, or it'll still have that "bite" and maybe some judges can tell me what I did wrong.

I plan to enter this competition as well. I always appreciate the feedback.. especially on my oddball entries! I'll put in my gruit, 2 meads, kolsch, blonde & an APA.

Yep... Registered yesterday, bottling my Kolsch tonight, and dropping it off tomorrow afternoon.
