I'm out for this comp. Never got around to bottling

I dropped off my Cal Common and my Munich Dunkel at Steinfillers yesterday. I had a Maibock too, but it wasn't quite ready yet.

Well, that means you can Judge in any category Brent!
PBC has always run a top notch comp. and it's the one I do every year!
Brad, I'll take you up on transportation and we can firm it up on the club meeting next week.
Thanks to all who did enter, and remember, if you don't enter, you don't have the feedback on your beer.
If you're uncertain in the future, look up Pat, Pete, Brent, Brad for feedback on how close you're to style.
Of course, I'm always availableto sample yours if you want to put a beer in that'll win Best of Show!

Too much going on for me as well... Spent all of last week in PA, OH, and MI. Was hoping to brew this weekend, but I never got any plans arranged with Dustin to get it done. And he's got all our equipment and beer, so I never managed to get things arranged to submit.

If we don't brew soon, we're both going to be out of homebrew!

Nothing bottled. I have three bottles of something in my fridge that I bottled for comp, intended to label but never did. lol.. Now I have no idea what they are.

Guess I have to drink them of find a 2-bottle comp.

Well Brad, Hal Ward (HJW) and I judged this today.

I have to say, this was one of the best comps I've done, EVER!

Not like others where 4 out of 5 or 9 out of 11 were stinkers, this one was the cat's meow!

Brad did cat 9: Scottish ales I'll let him comment on the beers
Hal Ward did IPA's, ditto
I did a split judging on Cat 18, Belgian beers. This is the 1st time I've been able to judge this category except for Best of Show, and I did Belgian Blond, Dubbel and Strong Dark ales.

We had 9 total beers in these and we sent up one of each to the mini best of show.

I judged with "sir'G" and the other flight consisted of Jim Wilson and Mike Clark (master and national judges) and they did 18 C & D which were the tripel's and strong goldens

They sent one of each too.

We ate lunch and Jim and Mike let us sit in at the mini-bos round to determine the 1-2-3 order. Sir-G and I had no say in the final result, but the winner of the category was our Strong Dark, 2nd went to their Tripel and 3rd to our Dubel, so all in all it was a nice day.
Mmmmmmmm, Belgians at 9 in the morning for breakfast? Priceless.

Brad and Hal can give their opinions if they choose.

Just thought I'd let mine out before I forget them.

Well run competition and very nice beers too!

Be sure to enter next year and if you need help deciding which cat/sub style to enter, look up Brad N., Brent R., Patrick or Tyler or myself and we'll (hopefully) help you enter the proper category.

The IPA's were all in the 30's and quite nice.They were mostly Am style and only one double IPA.I think the hop shortage hurt that cat. and caused a few others to be a little weak in the hop aroma and flavors.

Well my dark strong did pretty well. The porter scored a silver as well. Funny, that porter didn't make the cut for the club only comp.

Also, I have never seen so many Stewards. We had 2 per table when sometimes there is only 1 for 2 tables.That is a big help.
