The Bruery Provisions
Hey all-- The Bruery is opening up a homebrew shop called "The Bruery Provisions", which we plan to open starting May 8th. BrewCommune VP Kevin Hammons has recently come on as the full time homebrew shop manager (as well as Bruery Inventory Manager) and Brian Cockle is consulting for us to get it up and running.
We're all very excited to open a homebrew shop in an area where the closest homebrew shops are 25 miles away. We intend to differentiate ourselves by offering organic ingredients, a wide range of herbs and spices, interesting yeast strains, exotic sugars and honey, as well as providing the staples of homebrewing ingredients and equipment at a great price. While mostly focusing on homebrewing supplies and equipment, The Bruery Provisions will also be the source for Bruery merchandise and general merchandise relating to beer. We'll have an extensive offering of beer related books and gifts, so make sure to send your significant others to the shop when looking for beery related gift items. Operating hours are still being figured out, but we'll be open at least 6 days per week. Being a few doors down from a brewery doesn't suck either-- stop by for homebrew ingredients, and get a beer and a growler fill while you're at it (on Fridays and Saturdays during tasting hours, of course).
We're also looking for part time help on Saturdays and Sundays, so let me or Kevin know if you'd be interested in working a few shifts a month. BrewCommune members will be given a discount, and we intend to many of the meeting at the shop as well.
Any feedback or what you'd like to see at The Bruery Provisions would be appreciated as we pull this shop together.
Cheers,
Patrick

Very cool. I can't wait for it to open. If my employment status does not change, I will be willing to work some weekend shifts.

This is very cool, I can't wait to have a good homebrew shop around again!
Re: The Bruery Provisions
I'm very excited to get the store open. Not only will it be local, we will have a huge selection of ingredients for you to play with, and the prices should be hard to beat.
Like Patrick said, please let us know if you have any requests or suggestions. And if you want to help work, let me know your availability.
Looking forward to seeing you all around the store!

Absolutely. With how I have them priced I don't know what kind of margin you'd be making but lets talk.PMR wrote:Great idea! Would you sell us some, Derrin?dhempy wrote:Wow .. very cool. Best of luck to you Patrick, Kevin and Brian!

Awesome! That'll be way easier than sending Dustin out to morebeer... Actually, if it means I'll have to occasionally pick up ingredients, it might not be easier... Hmmm
Either way, I'm glad to hear it. The only advice I can give, if you guys can stomach it, is to be open Sundays. Morebeer is closed Sundays, and you may do well to be open purely to be an alternate source on days where they're not around. If you guys chose to be closed Mon or Mon/Tues, it probably wouldn't hurt you, but open Sunday would definitely help.

Yeah, we will definitely be open Sundays. We might even be open 7 days a week, but it should be at least 6 days. Hours are still not concrete, so give me input on when you guys would likely be able to come during the week.bwarbiany wrote:Awesome! That'll be way easier than sending Dustin out to morebeer... Yeah, but that's just cause you're looking for some place to stay after the bar kicks you out and the park opens....BrewMasterBrad wrote:I like to shop between 2am and 5am. Hope that helps.

I guess there goes my plans to open a brew shop in north county.
Bastards!!!
Actually, since the shop will be a mile from my work and three miles from my home I am actually pretty stoked about this...
Cheers!

Excellent. I look forward to the return of a well run local homebrew store. I think open on Sundays is an excellent idea as I am likely a weekend only shopper.
