Either way, I'm glad to hear it. The only advice I can give, if you guys can stomach it, is to be open Sundays. Morebeer is closed Sundays, and you may do well to be open purely to be an alternate source on days where they're not around. If you guys chose to be closed Mon or Mon/Tues, it probably wouldn't hurt you, but open Sunday would definitely help.

Yeah, we will definitely be open Sundays. We might even be open 7 days a week, but it should be at least 6 days. Hours are still not concrete, so give me input on when you guys would likely be able to come during the week.

I like to shop between 2am and 5am. Hope that helps.

Just wanted to give everyone an update on what's going on here...

- The store will be open 7 days a week. Sunday-Thursday 12-6 PM, and Friday-Saturday 12-8 PM.

- The soft opening is tomorrow (Friday, May 8th). Come on down sometime this weekend and check things out.

- Paying Brewcommune club members will receive a 10% discount.

- We have recently brought on fellow brewcommune member Pete Boada, aka ^Respect, to work the store on weekends, and help out part-time as needed. Be sure to say "hi" to him when you come in.

Kevin, what is the minimum increment BP will be selling grain in? Pound? Ounce?
I am going to be re-purchasing some specialty grains for a couple kits I got 3-4 months ago and won't be needing pounds, but more like half a pound of this, quarter pound of that, etc.

I also would be interested to know if BP has the disposable oxygen tank regulator/filter/stone set up and for how much. I want to have it by this weekend so if BP doesn't carry it, I need to order online asap.

Grain is priced by the pound, and sold in whatever increments you need. We can adjust the price accordingly.

We are not currently stocking any oxygenation systems, eventually though.

Any thoughts on opening (& closing) earlier on Saturday & Sunday? I try to get brew sessions started by about 9 AM, and I think a lot of other folks are similar. There would be an advantage, IMHO, to be able to pick up last-minute ingredients or emergency purchases before noon... Likewise I don't there's much advantage to coming into a homebrew store at 7:30 PM on a Saturday night... If I come over that direction on a Saturday late afternoon or evening, it's going to be to go to the tasting room, not the store

i second Brad's thoughts. Late on a weeknight is one thing (especially for those that have jobs) but I'm not going to be buying brewing stuff at 8pm on Saturday.

Good point on the hours thing. But what about going to the tasting room and getting brewing supplies all in the same trip? This was part of the reasoning behind being open later vs earlier, but I understand your argument.

Yeah, I thought about that... At the very least, I doubt you need a 4 hour overlap. If you do a 9 AM - 5 PM (Saturday) you still get an hour of overlap -- so anyone who wants to pick up supplies and then go to the tasting room can easily do so.

And whoever is working the store can go over to the tasting room after close too

I thought I'd post a copy of the BP grain price sheet that was handed out. I doubt these prices are fixed forever and may change over time so of course double check with Kevin or BP, also keep in mind these prices do not reflect the 10% club discount.
