Sam Adams' Tasman Red IPA

Post by lexuschris »

Picked up a few Sam Adams brews I had not seen before. They come in 22 oz bombers, and this one was really a treat!

6.75% ABV
Two-Row Harrington
Metcalfe & Copeland Pale
Special B
Carmel 60L
Roasted dehusked
Topaz Hops(Tasmania)
Galaxy Hops (Tasmania)

I've seen & tried a few of the brown or red IPA type beers out there, and most of them seem to miss the mark. I think it is tough to balance the roasty & hops. This brew did a really good job of hitting that balance!

Not very roasty, just enough. Color is great! Nice thick foam. No oxidation or dryness... just a nice amber beer with a pleasant hop character. While not a true hop-bomb, the balance on this is really refreshing. Just finished the bomber.. wish I had another handy!
